A Team from Multimarathon.com have just finished the Sydney Trailwalker 100km event, one of the events that we had scheduled as a goal when building up the conditioning and the miles for the upcoming run across the Simpson Desert.
Trailwalker is an unbelievable event on many levels as it covers 100kms of some of the most beautiful and rugged terrain across Northern Sydney, has over 2000 participants and raises more than $2,000,000 for Oxfam Australia. An event worth doing in its own right!
Team Multimarathon.com had a really good day in the bush, finishing as a complete team in the time of 14hrs 24mins. This year that was good enough to give them the first place as well, but it really is run as an event and not a race and should been seen in that context. I would say that this being my 7th Oxfam Trailwalker that it is always a hard and long day or so and as such is a fantastic event in which to test your fitness, teamwork and logistics. The very things that will be put to test when we start the Desert Marathons.
A big thanks to our team including our support crew and to the Oxfam Trailwalker team (including the volunteers) who are responsible for putting the event together and making it so special. No doubt I will be back for another one.
Cheers,

Congratulations! I agree, the trailwalker is a challenging race and as you say a good build up to the multi-marathon in that it is a team race.
Glad to hear things are moving along nicely towards the big event!
